NSF Summer Research Program (NSF REU)

The National Science Foundation funds hundreds of universities to host summer research programs. These programs allow undergraduate students to experience research at a big university and allow them to consider what it might be like continuing on with research. Most programs do not cost anything and students get a stipend in addition to room and board. Check out the full searchable list of current programs at  https://www.nsf.gov/crssprgm/reu/reu_search.jsp.
